Below are some comments from
guests who chose our luxury B&B as an Upstate
New York vacation spot.
I would just like to thank you for the lovely breakfast
and sharing your home with me. It brought back so many memories. Angels come
in all shapes and forms and you are truly one.
What a lovely experience! I had never stayed at a B&B until
visiting with you. Thank you so much in your comfortable surroundings,
pampering, warmth of spirit and knowledge of the area. You created a wonderful
memory.
Andy and I truly enjoyed returning to Gothic Eves. We had such
lovely memories of being here in 2001. We knew we wanted to find time to come
back again. You attention and hospitality are outstanding as well as the
breakfast. Thank you so much until we meet again
This little note is from your Frenchie retiries of that lovely
last weekend. Your house and gardens are a treat and we thank you so much for
your special hospitality, you are in the perfect job! Thank you also for
allowing me to pick some seeds from your flowers. When I plant them I will
remember you!
Thank you for the inspiring walk through your garden the
Library Garden Tour. It was such fun to see your expansive new garden, your
colonial garden and especially your cutting garden. You have remotivated and
encouraged me with your flower to food combinations, and I'm eager to try them
out. Thank you again.

Trip Advisor reviews
“Wonderful Place to Visit”
Rose and Roman were wonderful hosts. Our concern for food allergies was
addressed wonderfully, including gluten-free blueberry scones that were out of
this world. The house is beautiful and the room was very cozy. We would
absolutely go back there again.
“Everything you wished for and more...”
My wife and I spent two evenings at the Gothic Eves and we couldn't
have been more happy with it. From the moment we arrived we didn't need to think
about anything other than relaxing. Our hosts, Rose and Roman, were extremely
friendly, down-to-earth and gracious.
We made it a point to take full advantage of all the wonderful amenities
that the Eves had to offer - including the hot tub heated by a wood burning
stove, a camp style fire pit (outfitted by Roman himself), and the elite spa
services. If you are just looking to unwind and read a book, there are a couple
of chairs and swings to relax on the grounds.
All in all, the Gothic Eves offered top-notch accommodations with some
local charm. I would recommend it to anyone. We hope to return next year.
BTW... be sure to check out Hazelnut Restaurant in Trumansburg - just a
short walk up the street. Great food and atmosphere.
“Lovely place for a weekend getaway”
Rose and Roman, the couple running the place, were genuinely friendly
people who seem to love what they do. The breakfasts were delicious and healthy,
with fresh ingredients from their own garden. The house is cozy and clean,
romantic and pleasant. There's a great wooden outdoor hot tub heated by a wood
burning stove. Definitely do it. I highly recommend this place.
“Charming”
My fiance and I stayed here at the last minute when other plans fell through
and were pleasantly surprised when Rose and Roman had a room available and were
willing to welcome us hours before normal check in. The house is in amazing
condition and has been restored beautifully, with nooks and crannies and lots of
surprises. Each bedroom is completely different and tucked away into the private
corners of the house.
We stayed in one of the smaller, more affordable rooms with the bathroom in
the hallway. This wasn't much of a problem since we were provided two cushy
robes. The pillowtop bed was great, we slept like babies. They also have WIFI if
you need to work on your computer.
I chose the inn mainly due to its spa services and hot tub. I didn't notice a
hot tub at first glance but later realized it was a service you need to set up
with the innkeepers. I did take advantage of the spa and had a wonderful massage
in the very peaceful room located behind the second house on the property. My
fiance enjoyed a quick round of golf on a great course less than five minutes
away.
Thanks to Rose's advice we enjoyed the best dinner on our whole trip at
Hazelnut Kitchen. The next morning were treated to an equally delicious
breakfast-totally organic from the eggs to the homeade jam. Overall we really
liked the inn's proximity to the town (walk), golf (tiny drive) and the parks
and wineries (a few miles.)
This place is a find!
“Wonderful and relaxing!”
My wife and I stayed here for two days in July. We wished we had stayed
much longer!
The location is excellent for getting to the local wineries and exploring the
finger lake region. The B&B is located in a quiet village and is in walkable
distance to a few good places to eat and drink.
Rose and Roman are fantastic hosts and can't do enough to help you out.
They're very knowledgeable about the area and give advice as to which are the
best restaraunts to eat at. Our breakfast was amazing - with local ingredients
and berries picked fresh from the garden.
They have a hot tub - which is wonderful to relax in afer a day of touring the
local wineries.
The rooms in the hotel have no TV - which is lovely when you want to 'get
away' from everything. They're all individually themed and the furniture in the
place adds to the character of the house.
A wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to truly
relax.
“Beautiful and charming, convenient and great service”
My husband and I stayed at this inn for a few days to visit the
wineries in the area. We are extremely satisfied with the location of the place,
the room and services. The innkeepers, Roman and Rose are excellent hosts and
made us felt comfortable and welcomed. They are also knowledgeable about the
area and the wineries. The rooms are charming and beautiful and each has its own
personality. We also wake up to home made delicious breakfast made by Roman with
mostly local fresh ingredients. We highly recommend this place and will stay at
this inn again if we were to visit in the future.
“A Treasure in the Finger Lakes Region”
Looking for a nice getaway in the picturesque Finger Lakes Region of
New York State, and having traveled on business in the area it didn't take me
long to find the Gothic Eves Bed and Breakfast through a local search. My
companion and I stayed in the Smokehouse Room, so named for the small smokehouse
outside the window overlooking the backyard. I was not disappointed and this B&B
exceeded all my expectations. The main house was built in 1855 and has been
furnished with authentic antiques.
Gothic Eves is located in the small town of Trumansburg N.Y., has an
almost New England charm. Most travelers will drive right through it on the way
to nearby Ithaca (home of Cornell University). It is in the heart of New York's
wine region and centrally located to several state parks and Finger Lakes
National Forest. If you hike, cycle, swim, or otherwise love the outdoors this
is the perfect place to rest. Take a winery tour if you wish or go to the Museum
of the Earth (passes available from the hosts) at the end of the day you will be
happy to kick back and relax. The gourmet style breakfast would be at home in
any high end hotel, and all the rooms have a different theme. I found an
authentic 1944 edition of National Geographic in my room, the perfect touch.
Despite the extreme cold outside, the heating was excellent and bedding was
beyond comfortable.
There is a word of advice to anyone expecting modern technology in this
B&B. There are no TVs, telephones, or internet access in the rooms. Quite
frankly it was refreshing, and we loved it. The feeling of getting away from it
all is exactly what we were looking for. The hosts, Rose Hilbert and Roman
Pausch are always available and are beyond accommodating; not to mention
excellent cooks.
The only thing I regret was leaving after a peaceful three day weekend. I
look forward to returning in the near future and possibly trying one of the
other rooms in what will no doubt be a great experience. Call them or email
them, you won't be disappointed.
