The Inn at Gothic Eves, a Finger Lakes bed and breakfast, was built in 1855 and is situated in the Village of Trumansburg 10 minutes north of Ithaca, New York near the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail and Seneca Lake Wine Trail.

Our historic Inn offers eight relaxing guest rooms and suites located in two buildings, The Inn and the Potter House, have been decorated to bring the wonderful architecture and the modern amenities together.  The rooms have different amenities that include fireplaces, sofas, recliners, refrigerators, microwaves, flat screen TVs, pillow-top beds, fine linens, and many guest amenities.

The newly renovated Potter House has two spacious suites with fireplaces, wet bar, sitting rooms, and soothing private baths. The Inn has a large dining and sitting room for entertaining and private parties. A slate patio between the Potter House and The Inn provides the space for a small event or party.

An organic, local, gourmet breakfast is generously served at our antique Empire walnut table by the fireplace in our dining room or in the garden room overlooking our 1/2 acre of formal perennial and annual flower beds and herb gardens.

Ithaca College and Cornell University are a quick 15 minutes from our bed & breakfast inn. We are also close to Watkins Glen, many wineries, theaters, delicious home-grown restaurants, and of course, the beautiful waterfalls for which the Ithaca-Trumansburg region is known. VisitIthaca.com has a full list of wine trails, festivals, and Finger Lakes visitor information.

News from the Inn: The gardens have sprung up and the yard is looking quite beautiful.  The Inn has had many improvements over the winter.  Almost 3 months of work to renovate the kitchen in the Main House and the back room which now has recliners, a flat screen TV, a coffee bar and a restored large kitchen cabinet.  You won't recognize it if you were one of the few guests that gained entrance to the old 1920 kitchen.  The parlour was stripped of its wallpaper, painted and new curtains were hung.  We now call it a living room.  The Syrah Suite was also stripped of its wallpaper, painted and new curtains as well.  The Merlot Suite was increased in size to add a recliner, a new bed and a TV.  Photos will be ready of these new renovations by the end of May.

Things to do: The Herb and Wine event on Cayuga Lake is this weekend, May 4-6.  Wine is being paired with a food made with  different herbs at each winery.  Event goers will be able to take a small herb plant .  When they finish, they will have plants for an herb garden.  I love this event, eating, drinking and gardening, what else is there.

Family News:  Anna is finishing up her first year in college at MassArt in Boston MA.  She has done very well and finished with receiving an award for her foundation year.   I am very proud.  Rachel, the youngest, has also had a great school year.  She started this year as a Junior but she will be graduating this June.  She applied to the Rotary Student Exchange Program and was accepted this Spring.  She will be going to Rhein Germany for the year.  My girls are growing up so fast and I have been robbed of two years with Rachel.  She is leaving and is only 16 years old.  I know that I raised them to be independent but I will miss them.  As much as this may be sad, my guests will benefit from all of the extra time I will have to take care of them instead.
